 Delicious & Healthy Recipe

Jenny Jones shows her simple recipe for delicious & healthy cabbage rolls (Polish: gołąbki) stuffed with rice, ground sirloin, mushrooms, and tomato. "I grew up helping my dad make gołąbki and they are easier to make than you think," says Jenny. "I hope my step-by-step video allows more people to enjoy this traditional Polish dinner."

Pączki -Polish Jelly Donuts 
Oven-Baked Doughnuts

Jenny's Polish heritage includes pączki which are traditional jam-filled doughnuts. "Polish pączki are usually fried but mine are oven-baked, light as a feather, and filled with jam or custard."

Polish Pierogi - Potato & Cheese Pierogi
Low fat and delicious

Jenny's potato and cheese pierogi are a healthy version of this traditional Polish treat. Pierogi can be made with various fillings like sauerkraut & mushroom, meat, and even fruit but Jenny's favorite ones are filled with a delicious mashed potato mixture with added cream cheese and browned onions. 



How to make pączki. / Jak zrobić pączki.
Step 1 Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. 

Step 2 Mix all dough ingredients in a bowl. 

Step 3 Then knead to smooth dough. Put in bowl and let stand covered for 1 hour.
 
Step 4 After one hour, remove the dough from the bowl and knead again. 

Step 5 Roll the dough to a thickness of about 1.5 cm ( one half inch). Use a glass or cup to cut into circles.
 
Step 6 Heat the oil in a frying pan and put in the donuts. Oil should be 175 C (350 F). Fry on both sides until golden brown color, and place donuts on absorbent paper or a non-stick surface.
 
Step 7 Use a syringe to fill donuts with jam. Frost and sprinkle with almond flakes.
Ingredients: 
 ■ 550 g wheat flour
 ■ 50 g fresh yeast
 ■ 250 ml milk
 ■ 50 g sugar
 ■ 4 egg yolks
 ■ 3 tablespoons olive oil
 ■ 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
 ■ teaspoon rum or spiritus

You will also need:
 ■ marmalade or jam (rose-hip preserves, rose-petal jam, plum butter or any other favorite thick fruit filling are best)
 ■ almond flakes
 ■ 1 cup powdered sugar
 ■ about 2 tablespoons water
 ■ cooking oil

"Don't wait for Christmas to make this delicious Poppy Seed Roll," says Jenny Jones. "It's easier to make than you think and the flavor of the poppy seeds, toasted almonds, and citrus peel is addictive!"

Jenny Jones' easy potato pancakes ( Polish: "placki kartoflane" ) are never greasy and take just minutes to make using a food processor. Her video shows how to drain off the potato juice but keep the starch for the best potato pancakes ever.
