It's a good idea to keep your little finger on the uklele sound board to stablilize your hand. A guitar teacher encouraged me to do this when I first started playing, and I am glad he did.

Optional note 
Did you know you can use this same fingerpicking pattern when playing the guitar? Did you know that ukulele chords are very similar to those of the guitar? (Playing the uke is like playing the guitar with a capo on the fifth fret, except with two fewer strings.)

Katy Carr
Katy Carr is a Polish-British singer, musician, songwriter and aviator. She has released four albums: Screwing Lies (2001), Passion Play (2003),Coquette (2009), and Paszport (2012) on Madame Deluce Recordings. Her fourth album Paszport was released in Poland by MJM Music Pl on 17 September 2012 and on Madame Deluce Recordings in the United Kingdom on 11 November 2012. A multi instrumentalist, Carr variously plays a vintage electric Wurlitzer piano, ukulele and banjolele which feature on her recordings with her group, Katy Carr and the Aviators. Carr's dulcet and often haunting vocals have been heard everywhere from the Royal Opera House to Glastonbury Festival.
